Forward Kim Kun-woo (33 years old, 194cm) of the Seoul SK Knights professional basketball team has decided to retire, leaving behind his familiar court.
Kim Gun-woo, who joined SK with the 9th pick in the 2nd round of the 2012 draft, played in 182 regular league games, averaging 1.8 points and 0.9 토토 rebounds, and especially contributed to the team’s offensive power with a high 3-point shot success rate of 38.5%. After joining SK, Kun-Woo Kim remained as a SK Knights one-club man while playing only in SK without a single transfer.
Kim Geon-woo, who had struggled with a chronic back injury since last season, tried to revive this season, but as his injury did not fully recover, he decided to retire.
Kim Geon-woo said, “I am grateful and proud of the fact that I have never left the team at SK, where I first joined, and have remained as a one-club man, and that I have won two championship matches during that period. I will live a second life, but I will do my best to become a good leader.”
Meanwhile, SK plans to support Kim Gun-woo’s new challenge through a retirement event sooner or later.
