The San Diego Padres have made significant changes to their roster.

The Padres team announced a team move ahead of a home game against the Los Angeles Angels on the 5th (hereafter Korean time).

Designated hitter Nelson Cruz (43) was designated for transfer. Cruise is expected to go through a waiver process and get FA qualification. There is a possibility of transferring through a waiver claim or trade because the annual salary is not much.

Having joined the team with a one-year contract this season, he recorded a batting average of 0.245, on-base percentage, 0.283 slugging percentage, 0.399, 5 homers and 23 RBIs in 49 games. He platooned with lefty hitter Matt Carpenter. Against lefties, he had a batting average of 0.241, on-base percentage of 0.281, and slugging percentage of 0.386.메이저사이트주소

Right-hander starter Michael Waka (32) was placed on the injured list due to shoulder inflammation.

After skipping an appearance earlier, he started an away game against the Cincinnati Reds on the 2nd, recording 5 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts and 1 run in 5 innings. He performed decently, but ended up on the injured list.

Waka is 8-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 85 2/3 innings in 15 games this season. He has the second-most innings pitched on the team this season.

San Diego sent right-hander Domingo Tapia to Triple-A, and left-hander Jose Castillo and right-hander Matt Waldron infielder Matthew Batten were called up in the vacant spot.
