According to the British media’Evening Standard’ on the 2nd (Korean time), Kane opened his mouth at a Reuters event held in New York about ‘former Tottenham manager’ Mauricio Pochettino, who recently took the position of Chelsea manager. 

He said, “Pochettino was an amazing manager for me,” and then said, “He helped me a lot until I am here now. He’s a great guy and a great coach.” 

“So I am very grateful to him now. Everyone has a career and a future. So all I can say now is that I wish him the best in everything.” 

He also showed his sincere heart. Kane wittily expressed his sincerity, saying, “I want Pochettino to do well at Chelsea, but not as well as we do.”

On the 29th of last month, Chelsea announced the appointment of Pochettino as manager.  

According to the club, manager Pochettino signed a two-year contract from 1 July 2023. He also has an option to extend for another year, so it is effectively a 2+1 contract. 

Even when they parted ways with manager Thomas Tuchel in September last year, Chelsea were also interested in manager Pochettino. Chelsea, who were searching for a suitable person for the vacant official command tower, decided to approach Pochettino again and accompany him.

Chelsea’s owner Todd Boelli kicked out manager Thomas Tuchel and left the baton to manager Porter, but in April of last year’s results below expectations, he pulled out the knife called ‘hard’ once again.

He was sacked from Tottenham due to poor performance in 2019, and took the helm of Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, but was sacked without being able to lift any trophies except winning the French Cup (FA Cup) in the 2020-2021 season. Now he is starting his managerial career again at Chelsea.

When Pochettino was at Tottenham, he had been with Kane, who had worn the Tottenham shirt since 2009. This is why Kane was asked about Pochettino’s appointment as Chelsea manager at a Reuters event. Kane gave a smart answer, thinking more of Tottenham, while sincerely wishing Pochettino a positive future. 

Meanwhile, some Tottenham fans are outraged by Pochettino’s choice.

‘Daily Mail’ said, “Tottenham fans will have to endure the pain of seeing their old manager step out of their rivals at a time when Tottenham’s future is uncertain.” Tottenham have yet to find a manager to join next season after sacking manager Antonio Conte in March.
