LG Pitcher Plutko happily finished preparations for the opening of the 2023 season with no-hitter pitching.
Plutko took the mound as a starting pitcher in the match against SSG, an exhibition match held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 28th, and pitched 61 pitches in 5 innings, striking out 5 and giving no runs. He recorded the highest fastball speed of 146 km and boasted a no-hitter perfect pitch that allowed only one walk against 16 batters.
In the first inning, Plutko struck out Choo Shin-soo with 3 pitches with a curveball with a big drop, Choi Ji-hoon struck out with a fast ball in succession from a 3-ball 1 strike, and Heredia finished with a tripartite strike with a ground ball to the third baseman.
Hit 9 batters in a row up to the 3rd inning. In the 4th inning, lead batter Choo Shin-soo got on base with a straight walk. However, after that, Choi Ji-hoon was treated as a fly ball out by center fielder, Heredia was treated as a fly ball out by first baseman, and Choi Jeong-eun was treated as a fly
ball by shortstop. Choi Joo-hwan finished the mound with a no-hitter by hitting a grounder in front of the first baseman.
Plutko threw a fastball (25), a cutter (14), a changeup (9), a slider (8), and a curveball (5) that day. He actively utilized his changeup, which he had not thrown until last year. Head coach Yeom Gyeong-yeop told Plutko to actively utilize the changeup from spring camp, saying that the changeup can work well. Plutko, who threw a lot of cutters and curveballs and lacked confidence in his changeup, had faith in his changeup at camp.
